Help for Mackenzie
Story by: The Friday Flyer Letter: Once again this community has taken our breath away. Overwhelmed with the wonderful support Mackenzie Monteleone received at the recent fundraiser held at and given by Cottonwood Canyon Elementary School. We would like to thank the local restaurants that donated the food and all the people who worked so hard at putting on this fundraiser and making it such a success. It was a very emotional night for us. We can only begin to see how many people Mackenzie touched with her loving personality and infectious laugh. Our hearts ache for her and we can see, we are not alone. So to all the families who continue to support us in this plight, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and ask that you continue to pray for Mackenzie and the Monteleone, James and Kutsher families. Friday Flyer Editor’s note: Fifth-grader Mackenzie Monteleone was injured last fall when she became pinned between a golf cart and her father’s truck while unloading after a camping trip. She suffered severe brain damage and was left in an acute vegetative state. Her family recently brought her home to Menifee after their health insurance provider stopped covering her care at a rehabilitation center. The family is still hoping for a miracle. Mackenzie’s mother, Chantelle Monteleone, can be reached at (951) 591-4740. for this story and more visit www.thefridayflyer.com
